3 Fall Trends You Need In Your Closet

The weather hasn’t quite gotten the memo that it is officially October! Yes, today was a crisp 65 in NYC, but temps are supposed to be right back up to 85 towards the end of the week (sigh).

There are three fall trends that I just cannot get enough of this season:

• Everything Plaid
• Newsboy Caps
• Sock Booties

They are all so versatile and easy to wear separately or all at once. Breaking down my favorite pieces and how to make them work in any outfit!

Plaid

It’s all about the neutral plaids this season. Grey, brown, and black plaid instantly get the fall vibes flowing. Keep it simple with an oversized blazer and your favorite denim, or pair a plaid skirt with a chunky black sweater and ankle boots.

Whether you’re head to toe in plaid or just incorporating a small piece – you really can’t go wrong. To break up a full plaid look, like the knit dress I’m wearing, pair with black accessories and chunky metal details.

Newsboy Cap

This is my favorite trend of the season and I am embarrassed to admit how many times I’ve worn this Brixton cap since I bought it… Like a belt, hats give any outfit that extra “mph” and show that you put a little extra effort into your look.

Sock Booties

I love the versatility of black sock booties! I have skinny ankles and absolutely hate when boots leave a huge gap around my mid-calf. Cue sock booties! They hug your legs and create a seamless, slim look with dresses and skirts. Or, wear them under your favorite straight leg jeans for an elevated casual look.

Channeling major 90s, Clueless era, vibes with this look! Add a black leather jacket to this plaid mini dress and you’re ready for a crisp fall day. These three pieces work so well individually, but combined create a trendy af fall look.

Today was my official last day of work and I am heading to Grenada to visit Jordan on Thursday! But, the minute I get back from island life I’m going full fall in this bish. I’m talking apple picking, pumpkin decore, cinnamon spice candles, and sweaters…lots and lots of sweaters!
