Happy December guys! Winter is in full swing and my life is officially a black hole of (you guessed it) black boots. If you don’t already know this about me, shoes are my weak spot. They completely transform any look and are truly the easiest way to try a new style or trend!

This deep green, corduroy jumper paired with an eyelet detailed button up needed something special to complete the 80s vibe I am very clearly channeling here (maybe I watched a little too much Austin Powers as a child. Anyone else?). I’ve had my eyes on white boots for the past few months, but was turned off buy the tacky options I was finding (you know, those shiny plastic GoGo boots you bought to match your senior year halloween costume?).

I finally found this patent leather off-white pair from Urban Outfitters and they perfectly completed this look. P.S. This particular shoe runs a little small! I’m consistently an 8 and these can be a little hard to zip when I’m wearing a thicker sock. Just a heads up!

Anyway, the right shoes always make an outfit! And because it’s the season of giving, I’ve linked my favorite “not so basic” boots (hey, who said you can’t treat yourself during the holidays 😉 )

1. Colored Suede

2. White Boots

3. Animal Print

4. Metallic

5. Embellished

My favorite places to shop for boots:

Free People: Whenever I’m looking for something a little more whimsical or out of the box, I head straight to Free People. They always have fun and inspirational pieces that make a statement and can diversify your wardrobe when you’re looking for something new!

Topshop: One of my new faves, Topshop brings an edgy style that you can rock every single day.

Urban Outfitters: You guys know I love Urban! You’ll never find a pair of boots that aren’t trending and  prices usually range from $50 – $250 to suit everyone’s needs.

ASOS: Asos is the Google of shoe shopping! They carry their own line and dozens of other brands I wouldn’t usually think to look at. They also offer a 10% discount to students!

……….

We stumbled on the cutest record shop in Hoboken while we were shooting this look! I’ve never been in a record store and seeing the mix of vintage and modern music was incredibly cool. Old, classic rock albums next to Beyonce and Sam Smith. Definitely a fun weekend activity!

Thanks for reading guys 🙂
