Hi guys! If you follow me on IG you probably know that I’m moving out of my Brooklyn apartment in a few days…so naturally I decided to redecorate this empty corning of our space just in time to pack it up and go – ha.
This corner was originally where I had my desk, but in preparation for the move, we’ve sold a few things and our desks were one of them (check out my post here!). With the new apartment in mind, I decided to create a cozy nook in my current place that will also work in the new space and I’m obsessed with how it turned out! Honestly wish I had done this set up sooner!
Thank you Walmart for all of the amazing pieces – they are all part of the Bohemian Dreams collection available online here.
I selected this mid-century modern accent chair as the focal point for my cozy corner. Walmart has an incredible selection of accent chairs and it was hard to choose just one – I linked some of the other options I considered above.
I’ve pinned this exact leather pouf more than a dozen times on Pinterest and I was thrilled to see it available at Walmart! I don’t know what’s taken me this long to finally order one. I love how it compliments this corner and gives me comfortable place to kick up my feet.
The brown leather looks even better than it did online and I’ve been using it all around the house – a seat at the coffee table or an additional place for friends to sit when they come over.
This space wouldn’t be complete without a few plants! My larger Bird of Paradise is in a self-watering planter (so cool!) and the smaller planter came in a set of two from Peach & Pebble.
Jordan picked up this beautiful Caladium for me just a few days before I put this corner together and I think it adds a much needed pop of color!
And it would’t be a reading nook without a cozy throw blanket and pillow!
This shag rug was another amazing (and affordable!) find from Walmart. It’s on the fluffier side and thus is a magnet for Yara’s fur, but it is so comfortable and I love the geometric design. It’s only 3×5 and fits the corner nook perfectly!
Moving out of this apartment is so bittersweet. It was the first place that I got to decorate on my own and I just love how comfortable we’ve made the space – I’m truly going to miss it! On the other hand, I am really looking forward to decorating a new place!!
While most of our furniture and decor will stay the same, I have some new ideas planned for the new Manhattan apartment that I can’t wait to share with you guys 🙂
Thanks so much for reading!
