Denim on Denim (on Denim)

The temperatures are rising and I’m ditching my heavy shearling coat for lighter pieces. Denim-on-denim, or in this case, denim-on-denim-on-denim is perfect for this “pre-spring” weather.

To break up my black jeans and black denim jacket I wore an oversized chambray underneath. This chambray is such a staple in my wardrobe and fits into literally every season. For an effortlessly cool vibe, try tucking in only one half of your button up. My mom thought I messed up here, but nope! Completely intentional.

I tied this whole look (literally) together with a black and white star printed bandana from Express. They’re calling it a “neckerchief” others sites say “neck scarf”. Whatever you want to call it….I am absolutely loving them lately!

Bandanas are a great way to add extra detail and really bring an outfit together. Perfect for pairing with long layered necklaces, alone, or even tied onto your bag! A fun accessory I will definitely be adding to my outfits more frequently (because I obviously couldn’t get just one!).

Unfortunately these Chanel inspired pumps from Zara are sold out. Try a pair of two tone espadrilles, like these,  for a more casual feel!

In an ironic twist (as I write about warmer weather), our furnace broke last night…on the one day it decided to take a dip below 30 degrees. So I am currently writing this post in my town library! Ha! It’s fixed now, but it was so cold inside this morning I could barely type.
