Fall Style Essentials

It seems like just yesterday I was basking in the sun at Jones Beach, getting ridiculous tan lines from my bandeau bikini top….

Oh wait, it was just yesterday!

And yet, today feels like the first unofficial day of fall in NYC. A crisp morning, beautiful afternoon, and no sweating on my walk home from work. Just perfection.

Fall is just about here people and I want you all to be ready when the leaves start to turn. It’s always a bittersweet time of year, but with all the wonderful things that fall brings, summer ending isn’t quite so sad.

If you’re one of the lucky people going back to school in the coming weeks, make sure you are ready with these fall essentials….and if you really want to make a statement on day one, I highly recommend show up in the dress that I am wearing below 😉

Satin Bomber Jacket

We all know the struggle of early fall…freezing in the morning and hot in the afternoon. A light satin bomber jacket is perfect for a brisk morning or that overly air conditioned lecture hall. I bought this rose embellished bomber at the beginning of spring and have desperately been waiting to wear it this fall. The bomber jacket makes the perfect complement to any outfit including jeans, a denim skirt, or joggers.

White Sneakers

I am a die-hard Converse girl, but in the spirit of a new season, I decided to switch things up. When I found these Puma’s I fell in love with the low profile and super clean lines. They’re slightly more athletic looking than Converse or Vans, but equally as versatile. They’re also incredibly comfortable! I love pairing classic sneakers with a stand out dress (like the metallic one I’m wearing here) or a super feminine outfit.

Leather Backpack

It wouldn’t be back-to-school without a new backpack! I’ve always had a preference for backpacks because I’m an outrageous over-packer and they always have the storage that I need. This black Botkier backpack with a metallic finish and gunmetal accents is perfect for fall! The metal details and adjustable straps can easily go from a day at class to a weekend carryall. This bag also comes in blue, cream, black nylon, and the most amazing holographic silver (seriously obsessed).

I hope you all have something fun planned for Labor Day weekend! I’ll be heading to Wildwood at the Jersey Shore with some friends. The saddest part of the summer ending is that summer Friday’s at my office are ending too. This girl is not ready for a five day work week! #dramatic
