Hey guys! I’m sorry for the lack of posts over the last month, but I’ve been very busy with some personal things (that I’ll be sharing here next week!).
If you follow me on Instagram then you know I visited Jordan in Grenada last weekend.
This was a quick visit, but we made a short trip to neighboring island, Carriacou!
Carriacou is a tiny island (all of 13 miles long!) about 2 hours away from Grenada. It’s located in a string of islands, called the Grenadines, that span between Grenada and Saint Vincent. While we were there we got to snorkel, swim with the turtles, and visit one of the most beautiful islands I have ever seen!

Grenada is the epitome of island life, well, at least I thought so until we got to Carriacou. We visited during there slow season so only a couple (literally 2) restaurants and cafe’s were open. It almost felt like we were the only people on the island. Grenada is generally very peaceful and private, but Carriacou took that to a whole new level. (I’m pretty sure there was only one other couple in our hotel too!)

St. George’s, Grenada
After taking a 2 hour ferry from Grenada, we arrived on Carriacou and jumped immediately on another boat for a day of snorkeling and island hopping with Isle of Reef Tours.

First, we stopped at Petite Rameau in the Tobago Cays for a homemade lunch. BBQ chicken, fresh caught fish, and omg my new favorite food, grilled plantains! We also had fresh mangoes and passion fruit.
The island literally looked like a stock photo on an old computer desktop. I mean wow! The water was crystal clear, the palm trees were picturesque, and there were even sting rays swimming along the shore!
Our next stop was at the center point of three island that make up the Tobago Cay’s Marine Park, Petite Rameau, Jamesby, and Baradal. This area is known for their large turtle population and we were not disappointed! As promised, we saw quite a few little sea turtles.
Jordan and I looked like crazy people swimming after every turtle we found and diving down to try and get a better look at them. The GoPro really does not do justice to just how beautiful these turtles were! Their shells are so uniquely designed and colorful, and you just cannot see that from the surface of the water.

Up next, we snorkeled through a nearby reef. Although it felt like we were settled in the middle of the ocean, the water was only about 15 feet deep and we were able to see so much coral and wildlife.
Our final stop was at another small island called, Petite Tebac. Fun fact: This is the location where they filmed scenes of from Pirates of the Caribbean (where Johnny Depp & Orlando Bloom are shipwrecked).
This island was so small we walked the entire perimeter in about 25 minutes.

It’s crazy how much energy the sun and water take out of you. We headed back to our hotel, The Mermaid, and then grabbed dinner at the Butterfly Restaurant (i.e. the only spot open on the island).
We were the only ones there and the owner made us delicious fresh fish and pizza! (And some of the best rum punch I have ever had).
The next day we ate breakfast at the Kayak Cafe, relaxed by the beach in front of our hotel, and played with the drone!
And, of course, a trip to Grenada is not complete without a day at Grand Anse! Some pics from our day there, and some shots we got at sunset on Jordan’s campus:
Grand Anse never disappoints 
Being on a boat and changing locations so frequently on this trip made it hard to use my nice camera. Almost all of these photos (minus drone and GoPro) were shot in my iPhone!
Traveling to these mostly unknown places really opens your eyes to how much is really out there. Long distance obviously has many, many downsides, but it has given Jordan and I the opportunity to explore some pretty incredible places.
I’m heading back to Grenada in two short weeks!! (CRAZY) This time I’m going with a group of friends who have never been before (and they are in for quite a surprise). This trip will definitely be a much different experience than in the past and I am super excited!
