As I mentioned in my post last week, my reason for lack of posting over the last month is that….I GOT A NEW JOB!
I will be working in event production for corporate and brand events!
Events have always been a small piece of my previous jobs and internships, but I’m finally taking the jump and making it my ONLY job (and I couldn’t be more excited to get started!).
I currently work in internal communications for a large apparel parent company. While I have learned a TON and am beyond sad to leave my co-workers (who I now consider my friends 🙂 ) it was time for me to move on to something new!
Part of working is learning what you DON’T like as much as it is learning what you do like, and this past year has been a huge lesson in that.
In my new position I’ll have more opportunities to travel, and am actually heading straight to Boston on my first day!
When I started looking for my first job last summer, I was fresh out of college and had an entirely different mindset than I do now. Going through this experience for the past month has given me a ton of new insight and experience on interviewing, standing out, and more tacticle things like, how to actually leave your current job. So I’m planning to do a few blog posts around some of my most recent experiences (now that I don’t have to keep it a secret !).
I would love to hear any of your questions!
This outfit is a modern twist on my favorite classic pieces – blue jeans and a crisp white button down. This Free People blouse falls perfectly off the shoulder and has an open back feature that shows just enough that it can be worn into fall (not that these 85+ temps have felt very fall like…).
Two-tone denim is an easy way to add a little extra interest to an overall simple outfit. This pair is from Urban Outfitters, but I do not recommend this particular pair.
I’m sure it was a one off issue, but I had some major quality issues with these jeans not once, but twice, and I don’t want that to happen to any of you!
Long story short, when I first got these jeans in the mail they were missing a very important feature…buttons! These jeans didn’t have any closure except for the very top button. The holes were there, but no buttons to close the pants (LOL).
I get it accidents happen, BUT when I requested a new pair, they were also missing buttons! I even began questioning myself, “Well, it’s Urban, maybe this is just a weird trendy thing??” No, no. Not the case.
I LOVE Urban Outfitters, but was very disappointed to receive a defective product twice 🙁 (especially cause the jeans are so damn cute!).
Anyway, I love this style and wanted to share with you guys! There are dozens other brands that have identical styles that I’ve linked above.
In keeping with the cool vibes, I finished this look off with white oval sunnies and classic canvas Vans.
………
My official last day of work is next week and then I am off to Grenada before I start my new job! It’s going to be a crazy month, but I have lots of good stuff coming for you guys.
Thanks for reading!
