NYFW was almost a month ago, but I still wanted to recap my outfits for you guys! Fashion week is a whirlwind of an experience and a fun opportunity to dress a little more “extreme” than you might on a regular day.
I only recently started watching Queer Eye (yes, I clearly live under a rock), but in one episode Tan was talking about the star piece or the item you build your entire look around. I absolutely LOVE this sentiment and have always used it to dress myself, only learning a good way to define it now. Anyway, I’ll list my “star” in each outfit summary throughout this post!
LOOK 1
These Petersyn cargo pants are what I built my outfit around for day 1! Cargo pants are absolutely having a fashion moment this season and I can totally see why! They’re versatile, easily dressed up or down and incredibly comfortable! I got this pair from Rent the Runway using RTR Unlimited (use my code RTRMELISSA if you want $100 off your first 2 months).
Early September is still summertime in NYC so I paired with a one shoulder top from Cotton Candy LA and western boots from Report.

LOOK 2
M O N O C H R O M A T I C ….so many people asked me if this look was a dress! It’s actually two separate pieces that just happened to match oh so perfectly! This also happens to be one of my favorite colors that I don’t get to wear very frequently.
My slip skirt is from & Other Stories and coordinating blouse is Nude Fashion. I paired with an oversize faux leather hobo bag from Sfizio and strappy white heels from Zara.
Look 3
Going for that bad b*tch look for Day 3 (insert sunglass emoji here). Straight hair and head to toe leather. And I SWARE Alexi and I did NOT plan to coordinate, but it worked out so well!
Look 4
I’ve been trying not to say this for every look…but this was my FAVORITE!! This set is from an incredible brand called AndAgain Co. (link) and they are a sustainable company who creates and manufactures their items right here in NYC!
I was introduced to AndAgain through a college friend about 2 years ago and found out the two designers also attended University of Delaware (my alma matter!). We’ve kept in touch over the past two years and I was so honored to style their pieces for Fashion Week! They have an incredible selection of denim and classic pieces – make sure you check them out!
I really wanted the all white set to stand out so I kep the rest of my look simple in all black. I have on an amazing longline bralette from Commando

Look 5
One item I know I’ll be wearing all the time, these faux patent leggings from Commando…
When I first got these I really didnt know what to wear them with, but i started wearing them the same way I would wear jeans or leather pants and they are perfect!
I love to match (truly i do) and I couldnt resist wearing coordinating patent leather shoes with this look! Mine are from M.Gemi (link) I also (use my code??? for x dollars off).
