Rainy Days in Rome

Rome

Rome

Benvenuto a Roma! We have finally arrived in this beautiful city for the first stop on our tour! I’ve been looking forward to this trip since we began planning last year, and it feels so surreal to finally be standing here. Driving through Rome, I had no expectations, but it felt very similar to New York City…minus the massive high rises. Crowded with cars and modern shops lining every street. But then…looking as natural as ever the Colosseum appears. Nestled in this landscape, are the ruins and you immediately see the blending of old and new.

We arrived at The Grand Hotel Tiberio in the early afternoon and began our sight seeing for the next two days! We visited the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican Museum, and countless churches. Just as the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and it was impossible to see and do everything in such a short time. I would have loved to explore more of the city life and shops, so I guess I’ll just have to come back :p.

Even in the rain, I enjoyed Rome so much! The food, the wine, oh and of course the amazing history and beauty within the city. Onto the next destination!
