Happy Monday everyone! Sooo who watched Game of Thrones last night?!
Well, if you did, this post could not possibly have come at a better time! I all but jumped off of my couch when I saw Dubrovnik come to life on-screen in the Season 7 premiere. I won’t give away any spoilers, but can we just talk about the costumes! The details and creativity that go into each of those pieces is simply unbelievable. I think that’s just what makes GOT the brilliant show that it is- not one detail left untouched. (Guys, if you haven’t figured it out already, I’m just slightly obsessed….)
Anyway, keep scrolling to see the real King’s Landing from our day spent in Dubrovnik, Croatia!

Does anyone recognize this from GOT Season 6…. check out the scene here.
Dubrovnik was the perfect way to end our two-week trip to Croatia! We arrived on Friday afternoon and Old Town was already packed and hot as hell. After a mini tour, we checked into our Airbnb apartment located right in the heart of town.
We stayed in the La Mura Apartment from Dubrovnik Homes! Loved this little flat.
Afterwards, we headed to the Dubrovnik Cable Cars. You have the option of buying a one way ticket (~$15 USD) and hiking down the large hill, or buying a round trip ticket (~$22 USD) for a ride up and back down. If the weather wasn’t so insanely hot and I wasn’t wearing sandals, the hike would have been a fun option, but instead, we took the easy way down.
The panoramic view of Dubrovnik from the top of the hill was stunning. Nothing but orange roofs and gleaming blue water! There was a little cafe restaurant at the top of the cable car, but not much else. We spent about 30 minutes taking pictures and just admiring our surroundings.
That orange patch is all of Old Town Dubrovnik! I wasn’t joking when I said it was small.
At this point in the trip we were both so sick of pasta and cheese (I never thought I’d hear myself say that) and for dinner that night, we found a great sushi restaurant in old town called Oyster & Sushi Bar Bota. The sushi was fresh and delicious and a much-needed change from the carb overload.
Afterwards, we went to a literal hole in the wall bar called, Mala Buza. After walking through a short path that led us under the thick city walls, we emerged on the ocean side of the wall!
This place was so cool! You can see the tables perched on rocks jutting out along the coast.
The next morning we got up at 6am to watch the sunrise and shoot my favorite summer maxi dress with unobstructed views of Old Town. (Check out how different the city looks before the tourists arrive) After a quick breakfast at Cafe Pupo, we headed to the famous city walls surrounding Old Town, Dubrovnik.
The walls open at 8am and close at 7:30pm, and tickets will run you about $15 USD each. You can walk the entirety of the walls within 2 hours (about 1.2 miles) and I highly recommend going as early as you possibly can!
One, it’s hot as hell by midday and two, the walls get very crowded and your walking speed is at the mercy of the crowds. The view from the walls is truly unbeatable! You can see all of Old Town Dubrovnik plus the surrounding harbors and small islands.
Get ready for lots of orange people….

Can this be my future backyard please….
You can see Island Lokrum on the left. We didn’t have a chance to go, but you can take a quick boat ride straight from Old Town.
Can’t get enough of these orange roofs!
Dubrovnik Stradun (Main Street) on the left!
There were cats everywhere and they were living the life. No cars to bug them and literally thousands of tourists giving them dinner goodies (i.e. me).

For me, a vacation is just long enough when you are ready to come home at the end. By Sunday, Jordan and I were both missing the comforts of home.
This trip was more than I ever expected it to be and I’m so glad we decided to go somewhere a little off the beaten path. Croatia is definitely becoming more and more popular every year, but exploring a place that I haven’t already seen all over Instagram and Pinterest was half the fun!
……….
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post featuring a very peaceful Dubrovnik and my favorite summer maxi dress!
Hope you all had a great week and thanks for following along on my Croatian adventure! If you have any questions, need recommendations, or absolutely anything at all comment below or shoot me an email.
