I’m totally jumping the gun (as if Christmas isn’t just a few days away!) and getting right into the #newyearnewme chatter. As 2017 approaches, like most, I’ve been reflecting over the past year and thinking about my goals for the next.

In blogging, work, and my personal life I always have the mindset that you are constantly growing and improving yourself!  But, it’s easy to get stuck and sometimes you need a little extra motivation to keep moving forward or push to try something new.

The way you dress is one of the easiest things you can change in your life; it can make you feel like new, or even give you that extra boost of confidence to go after somethings you’ve always wanted to!

We’ve all read the quotes, “Dress for the job you want, not the one you have”, “Always dress like its the best day of your life”, “Dressed up to get messed up” (haha okay maybe not that last one). A simple upgrade to your closet, whether it means an all out shopping spree or investing in a few quality pieces, can make a huge difference in how you feel every day.

Since graduating a lot has changed in my life, and in a weird way, this outfit embodies some of that transition. The outfit itself is simple; black and white, shirt and pants, shoes and a jacket, but each component is slightly more elevated than something I would have put on a year ago today.

“The way we dress affects the way we think, the way we feel, the way we act, and the way others react to us” -Judith Rasband

Putting on an outfit that makes me feel and look good can instantly bring my mood from 0 to 100. So swap your black(ish) leggings for cool suede ones, invest in a stand out jacket, and spend a little more time to elevate your look! I promise you’ll feel more confident in yourself (and others will notice too!).

……….

Blogging has made me more comfortable with my personal style and has given me the confidence to push myself and try new things in life and in fashion.

What’s something you do that makes you feel confident?
