Weekday Unwind w/ Torresella

What I’m Wearing:

Top: Ramy Brook | Jeans: Topshop

I already know that I spend entirely too much time in front of a screen each day (and thank you Apple for the new update the now tells me exactly how much time that is).

Between my day job, scrolling through IG, editing photos for this blog, reading e-books, watching Netflix/Hulu, etc. I know I spend more of my time connected to a screen than not.

I assume you guys can relate?

I’m not here to tell you to use your phone/computer/iPad less because honestly, it’s unavoidable in our everyday life, but I am here to tell you some ways I like to disconnect, unwind, and even seek inspiration in non-digital ways!

1. Enjoy a Glass of Wine

Pouring myself a glass of wine after work has become my mini “notification” that I’m officially checked out for the night. I’ve been drinking Torresella Pino Grigio since I moved into my new place and it has become a staple in my Thursday (err and Wednesday & Friday) night evening routine.

2. Get Your Daily Dose of Fashion/Beauty/Pop Culture

Remember those things called magazines? Well, they still exist and I love picking up an InStyle or Vogue magazine on a Saturday morning before I even touch my phone. There’s also an oddly satisfying feeling of actually reading a magazine end to end (as opposed to the never ending feed of photos on IG).

3. Bake (or Cook)

This may be fully influenced by all of the pumpkin spice items that I keep eyeing in Trader Joe’s, but even putting together a simple recipe can be very relaxing & fulfilling. Plus, you can’t bake properly without a glass of wine in hand (am I right!).

4. Journal

I especially love to do this when I have a lot on my mind. My cell phone notes are my to-do list, but journaling should be more than that. Even if it’s a short entry, it’s always fun to go back and see what you were doing in life a month or year ago.

5. Take a bath

Light your favorite candles, drop in a bath bomb and pour yourself a glass of wine. I’m yet to do this in my new place, but it really is one of my favorite ways to unwind. Read that book you’ve been meaning to start or just relax and quite literally soak in the alone time. No music in your ear, phone buzzing or screen in sight.

Bonus Tip – Turn on ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode on your phone. It’s inevitable that our phone is never out of arms reach at any given time throughout the day. Simply eliminating the distraction of seeing a notification pop up on your screen can help you better relax and enjoy whatever else you are doing.

……….

As I mentioned, I’ve been enjoying Torresella Pino Grigio as my drink of choice when I’m relaxing at home. This crisp white has notes of citrus, green apple, and white flowers and every bottle is sustainably farmed in the Veneto region of Italy.

On the weekends, I like to enjoy a glass of Torresella Prosecco! Whether that’s in a tasty mimosa or alone, this extra dry prosecco is sweet and crisp with hints of pear, apple & citrus.

……….

Thank you guys for stopping by! I hope this post can spur some inspiration to detach from your screens (even if it’s just once a day). I totally get it, phones = life, but checking out can help you become more aware of just how much (often mindless) time you spend in front of a screen!
