Hey guys! Happy (almost) New Year!
Just before Christmas, Jordan and I escaped NYC for a few days and took a trip to upstate NY with Lexus USA! We had the opportunity to test drive one of their latest models, the Lexus LS 500h, on our drive! Going from walking and taking the subway everywhere to driving this gorgeous vehicle was incredible (and pretty tough to give it up at the end of the weekend)! From the meticulously designed luxury interior to the smooth, comfort of the drive – this Lexus surpassed all of my expectations and was insanely fun to drive on the open roads upstate.
……….
Located about 2-hours outside of NYC, our first stop was Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge, NY! We arrived in the evening to a glowing fireplace and champagne in our suite! The large room was cozy, warm and gorgeously designed. Featuring a large statement tub in the center of the room, floor-to-ceiling marble bathroom, and beautiful textures and decorative elements throughout the space.
Hasbrouck House was an incredibly romantic & cozy environment – perfect for a getaway with your boyfriend or girlfriend! They were also voted America’s Most Romantic Retreat!
After settling into our room, we headed to dinner at Butterfield Stone Ridge, Hasbrouck House’s onsite restaurant. Serving upscale American with farm to table ingredients & seasonal menu options, we started off with a creamy barratta and cheese plate (cheese lover over here if you couldn’t tell) and a bottle of wine. For dinner, I ordered the filet mignon and Jordan got the salmon. The meal was delicious!
The next morning we ate brunch at Butterfield and explored a bit of the property before heading off to our next location – Woodstock!
……….
After a quick 20-minute drive from Hasbrouck House, we arrived at the Hotel Dylan in Woodstock, NY. Playing into the Woodstock music and arts scene, the Hotel Dylan features modern rooms with Rock n’ Roll style including, mid-century furniture, record players in every room and a cool common space where breakfast is served each morning.
Woodstock is best know for the iconic music festival that took place there in the 60’s, but the tiny town is a great destination for artisan shopping, outdoor adventuring and their prolific arts scene. We spent most of our day exploring the main drag – Tinker Street! Much like Warren Street in Hudson, NY (which I wrote a post about here) you’ll find dozens of vintage stores, candle makers, restaurants, home decor and art shops on Tinker Street.
Some of my favorites were:
Candlestock
Three Turtle Doves
D-Day
Timbuktu
Rock City Vintage
Pacama Handmades
After exploring town and grabbing pizza for dinner at Catskill Mountain Pizza Co. we went back to our hotel to find a fun surprise at our door – s’mores supplies! The Hotel Dylan makes nightly bonfires on the property for the guests to enjoy – we had such a blast cooking up the perfect s’mores and keeping warm by the fire!
When Jordan and I were dating in college and were home for the holidays and summer we would always build bonfires in his back yard and make s’mores! We haven’t done it in a while and it was such a nice surprise during our stay.
……….
Staying at both Hasbrouck House and the Hotel Dylan gave us the perfect mix of romantic, relaxing and fun! Jordan and I loved getting out of the city for a few nights (and how easy it was to get there). I’m always amazed by how diverse NY is – you can go from the congested, bustling city to a quaint and cozy upstate town in just 2-hours!
Of course, driving the Lexus made that ride considerably more enjoyable 🙂 Thank you Lexus for giving me the opportunity to test drive such an awesome vehicle!
Thanks for reading everyone!
